Jonx below refuses to explain what he understands by 'surrender', he claims that Rawat clarified it, but then refuses to give a quote or a reference when and where that clarification took place.

But then I thought some more about this, and remembered that Rawat made it very clear what he meant by surrender. He gave many examples of devotees, such as Hanuman, from religious stories who had surrendered to their 'Masters'. In pretty much every case, the devotee abandoned their wordly responsibilities to dedicate everything to their Master. These were the examples that we were continously given by both the mahatmas and by Rawat himself. How could we not understand what was meant by surrender? Even if Jon thinks it means some sort of mental letting go to some superior thing within us, in all the examples given that internal surrender was coupled with the external surrender.

On this issue, Rawat was clarity itself!

John.
