His clear contempt for the people who served him in all good faith,is painful to see. And it was serving HIM, in the belief that he was in some mysterious way the living God. What I find particularly repellent about his self reinvention, is that he's now taking the 'how could you believe that' line, which was precisely the one which his detractors in the press took, back in the day.
He is surely a fine example of Lord Acton's famous observation.......''all power corrupts, but absolute power corrupts absolutely.''.
