In the 7 years (ouch!) since I came across the ex-premie forum, there have been a number of approaches made to define the typical ex's position. Yours, I have to say, is indicative of an approach that is likely to be the most effective. What I mean is this: you manage to get over your (highly valid) point of view without alienating the average premie, something many of the more prominent posters who are still around from the early days (eg Jim Heller, and Cynthia, to name but two) have yet to master. They'll not love me for saying that, but that's not's what I'm here for. There's been a confrontative (almost bullish) attitude towards current premies for far too long. Your posts read like you mean what you say, yet without resorting to disrespect of the premie mentality. More power to your elbow! (and to older exes who still post here, I'd like to ask this: is your focus on helping those who are still stuck to the "Lotus feets" to examine their position, or is it just to mock it? And what would work for you, if you were a current premie?) Modified by cq at Sun, May 08, 2005, 09:19:46 |
