The trouble with scriptures is they were often written long after the event or by people who weren't even there and translated by people who were even further removed.
My Matthew 6-22 says - The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
Some born again Christian Bible says - "Jesus is the light of the world, if you are single pointed on him, you will have sunshine on your soul".

This is why we need an experience rather than a theory.
