I'm still convinced of the reality of extra-terrestrials. You could read some stuff for yourself. I like the old classic "Incident at Exeter." The "aliens from Mars" junk was the product of science fiction writing, not of any serious Ufology work. But that's a great example of how Sagan twisted things to suit his (current)pov.
Sagan has questiionable credibility. At first he said yes, aliens are real. Then he did a complete reversal. He was probably told to toe the line or lose you academic standing and livelihood. It wouldn't be the first time such coersion was applied.
In the face of the thousands and thousands of reports including tons from trained observers, policemen and the like, I find it appalling and arrogant beyond believe to deny the reality of other life-forms in the universe.
Just because we don't know where they come from or how they get here doesn't mean they don't exist.
I love the old saw "aliens don't exist because they couldn't," referring to the above problem. Actually, I don't love it. I think that type of thinking smacks of the very worst closed- mindedness of academia and the scientific community.
There are hundres of well trained, rational people who are pretty damn sure aliens exist. I've personally seen a UFO and I've talked to one person who had an abduction experience. It happened to him and a friend in the desert in California. When this guy came back to Washington he was a radically changed man. This grocery clerk was now consuming high level physics, chemistry and electronic textbooks and was inventing new devices. He said he felt like his head was filled with knowledge duroing his experience. Remember, there were two of them and although I spoke only to the one guy, I did so at length and he was as sincere as the day was long. It was a truly spooky experience as the guy was obviously a little distraught by all this but definitely not crazy.
Yikes, I've got cattle to feed! Later, Mr Nar. Nice to chat wid ya!
