"....Part of my personal distrust of government (on the national level) stems from their cover up of this reality...."
Gerry, how can they admit to something that isn't real? Could you? You are expecting them to prove a negative and that is virtually impossible, no? That isn't critical thinking.
Paralytic sleep IS a reality and not insulting, at all. Many people have suffered from it, myself included. The difference is that I recognized what it was. It used to be common in my youth, becoming less so as I grew.
You do, like many others, talk about "trained" observers seeing these things. I disagree wholeheartedly. Police and pilots are NOT trained in the identification of flying objects. It's enough for a pilot to know that something is coming toward or moving away from their flight path. They don't need, nor are they trained, to positively identify WHAT the object is, just it's relative velocity and whether it is on an intercept path. Police aren't trained in this at all. Additionally, the ufology freaks all fully accept these accounts, why? Because it is an "apparent" argument from authority? Non-critical thought at its best. Moreover, they are no better trained to observe the unusual than you are..... particularly things in the "air" or beyond the air.
No astrophysicist or astronomer has ever detected a UFO nor imaged one, despite our large number of sensors that would pick that activity up. NO AMATEUR astronomer, and there are many of those, has ever imaged or spotted a UFO in a their telescopes. Why not? Why are people who are actually TRAINED in the subject of things "extraterrestrial" NEVER the ones reporting those? There is a reason and it ISN'T a government coverup.
BTW, I spot satellites flying through my FOV in my telescope all the time....... ALL THE TIME. They spoil more of my data gathering than just about anything else, to include dewing-over of my cold-camera. No, they aren't UFO's........ I know what they are..... I'm a trained observer.
