The Rawat UN Deception. | ![]() | ||

I've tried to follow the discussion about the UN in Malaysia and Rawat and if I understand this correctly, that TPRF press release is a deceiftul, vacuous misrepresentation, isn't it? It's so clumsy, the way it's done, that it's really kind of funny. The deceptive use of language, bordering on outright lies, is astounding to read. TPRF would make George Orwell roll over in his grave. Is this the way you see this?
Press Release Source: The Prem Rawat Foundation
United Nations' Kofi Annan Sends Best Wishes for Event With Prem Rawat Monday April 25, 9:17 am ET [Comment: Somebody got Kofi Annan's office to send some generic letter sending best wishes for some unstated, unnamed, undescribed event in Malaysia, where Rawat may or may not have spoken. He wasn't in any way sending best wishes to Rawat, or his talk, whatever it was and to whomever it was.] KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, April 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Responding to an invitation from the United Nations Association of Malaysia [Comment: This is not the United Nations, or anything related to the United Nations. It's just a group in Malaysia who call themselves that.] ...Prem Rawat, known also as Maharaji, addressed a distinguished audience which included members of Royal families, ambassadors, cabinet ministers, and members of the Asian media. [Comment: Although this press release says that Rawat was "responding" to an "invitation" to address an "audience" and the "invitation" came from this organization, the audience may or may not have been at any "event"sponsored by this "non-UN" organization. It was just "an audience" which could have just been a bunch of cult members for all we know, although they were supposedly "distinguished." I would love to hear who was "royal" and who was a "cabinet member." That would probably be funny.] Welcoming the guests, Datuk Dr. Ian Chia, Secretary General of the United Nations Association of Malaysia, former President of the Malaysian Institute of Directors, and Vice-Chairman of the Malaysian Institute of Management, declared: "It is indeed an honor to introduce such a distinguished man. Prem Rawat speaks about peace from the heart. He inspires and guides people to find peace from within and offers a simple yet profound message of peace." [Comment: This Dr. Chia introduced Rawat at what may or may not have been anything more than a premie event unaffiliated with any other organization.] Introducing Prem Rawat, Tengku Ahmad Rithauddeen, President of the United Nations Association of Malaysia, [Comment: Who introduced Rawat, this guy or the other guy?] ... "Prem Rawat is an international speaker acknowledged for his profound message of peace, particularly inner peace and self-fulfillment. We at the United Nations Association of Malaysia and the United Nations Development Programme see his message as a true reflection of the hopes, aspirations, and ideals of the United Nations, whose aim is international peace and security. [Comment: This guy from this non-UN organization, sees Rawat's message as a "reflection" of the ....ideals of the United Nations, an organization unaffliated with the one this introducer is affiliated with. Got it? No comments on how Rawat has said for years, that knowledge has nothing to do with world peace, although he may have recently flip-flopped on that, going back to his message he was making at Millennium festival in 1973.] ....Prior to Prem Rawat's address, Tengku Ahmad Rithauddeen read a special message sent by the United Nations' Secretary General Kofi A. Annan to the organizers and participants of this special event with Prem Rawat. Kofi Annan's message ended with: "Historic, fundamental progress is possible. But it will depend on the will of governments and on the engagement of groups and citizens such as you. In that spirit, I wish you all the best for a successful event." [Comment: Well, again, Kofi Annan was sending best wishes to the "event" (whatever it was), at which Rawat may have been a speaker, perhaps one of many speakers, like that event in Spain, some new-agey peace thing, in which Rawat was likely a small footnote, even there. In any event, I have spoken at events at which the President of the United States, and the governor of California sent best wishes. Does that put me in the same league with the living Perfect Master of our time and worthy of a press release? Of course I was one of perhaps 50 speakers. Like I said this is a major joke.] I suppose this is part of the same campaign of misrepresentation that includes Rawat claiming to have spoken in neighboring Thailand "at the UN" a while back, and having spoken "at Harvard" more recently. In those events, they just rented the hall from at a prestigious location, but in this one, it was at an (undescribed and unnamed "event") at which Rawat may have spoken and the organization has "UN" in the title. Of course, TPRF tells us the "event" was "special" so that's all we need to know.] Cults lie. That's what they DO. Modified by Joe at Wed, Apr 27, 2005, 18:08:57 |
