I also added Joe's and Gerry's as ***BEST***, too.

quirky, at some point in time in a far away and distant galaxy (1998) I was a recent-ex like you are now.  I found it interesting that a lot of the ex-premies at the forum had exited years prior to me.  In fact, even though I suspected that people drifted away from Maharaji over the years I always assumed that they got busy with their real lives.

So, I think it's great that you and other recent-ex's are here to share your experiences.  Your story about going to that last program is really good.  It really says that you really did 'give it a fair' chance.

Your description of Maharaji's current speaking style is very noteworthy.

It would be interesting to chronicle and categorize his various speaking styles through the years. Certainly, way back in the beginning his almost cracking voice with a thick Hindi accent was difficult to understand, but I think it was more genuine than it is now with his pregnant pauses and over-the-top repetition and emphasis on words and phrases.
And then I think most of the 80's was typified by his screeching style.  Ugh!

But, back to his current style...  Yes, when I view or edit his videos it's incredibly painful to observe his newest style.  Worse is that he seems to be completely impressed by himself.  And in some of the videos it's like he's playing and mugging to the camera.  Hmmm, I wonder what the impact is that he knows that he's being taped and the videos will be a seen again and again.

Finally, I'm embarrassed and almost ashamed that I listened to him for so many years.  When you take a step back and listen with new ears he says less than nothing.  And he says it poorly.  But I can't imagine listening to him today with his latest shtick.  Unbelievable!

Do you think Maharaji might have a future in politics?  His brother Sat Pal was a politician in India.
