As I have stated probably too often, one of my big hobbies is neurobiology and the brain. But this aspect I don't know much about. I want to investigate it more. There is this tendency to talk about psychopaths as being neurodivergent, that they are born that way will always be that way, like trisomy. Even some people calling themselves psychopaths make that claim. My "feeling" is this isn't true. Or at least not in the sense that psychopaths are incapable of empathy or compassion. We can start with Prem himself. Clearly his family and early childhood environment played a giant role in making him into what he has become. Even if that is not reversible it isn't inevitable. |
