I had a memory recently and this seems like a good place to put it. When I was living in the NYC ashram in the late 70s, I remember this day when Marolyn was giving birth to I think it must have been Dayalata. All of the ashram premies were asked to not go to work and we were all in one house. There was some local honcho on the phone with some other honcho somewhere else, or maybe it was some kind of conference call.

We were all supposed to be super holy and meditating and talking in whispers because of the extraordinary sacred moment. Our meditation was supposed to help in the birth of yet another divine child. Very similar to how a knowledge session was in those days but much more extreme. If that doesn't scream cult I don't know what does. Everyone was so joyous when the baby was finally born and singing aarti and all that other nonsense. Probably tears and rapture too.

Do any other ex-ashramites remember that?
