Joe, your point is understood about some people moving from cult/ inside positions to active to sidelines...but one can also view this as a landscape change in how we label and quantify people who received knowledge. What may really be happening is that those boxes are dissolving and people are just having their own experience whether vocal or not. We're so used to seeing the organization in tangible form, but it appears that the organization itself is not something that we can identify. The whole experience probably was never supposed to be about the organization. (although we were all indoctrinated to believe otherwise at decca/coll/etc) It's just lots and lots of people who received k. are just individuals. Some we see, show up at events, etc. and others may still have their own experience and enjoy it. Polorizing people who received k as either active or negative or sidelines just reduces the real point that we are all human beings. Friends find their meaning in being human, sans politics, active/ inactive, interests or income.
