Satpal (then called Bal Bhagwan Ji) thought of himself as Maharaji's lieutenant - his main helper.

I spent the summer of 1970 touring with him down the east side of India in preparation for the November Hans Jayanti program (the 'Peace Bomb'). I had many long talks with him, and there is no doubt that he thought of younger brother Prem as the one and only satguru of the time, whom he (Satpal) was very privileged to serve.

Of course, this may all have been a sham, and that he really thought he himself should be satguru. If so, he was an extremely good actor. His recognition and devotion to Prem as the Perfect Master seemed passionate and sincere.
