Joe-I remember hearing about 2 deviations, or times when rawat quit the "mastership".

1-The original rawat website, I think written by glenn whitaker, mentioned that in 1983-84, rawat went into a brief "semi-retirement" phase....this would be at the end of the deca project, with ashrams closing,etc.....marriage a joke, lots of drinking,dettmers realizing rawat is a mess etc, counseling, maybe an intervention, who knows..

2-The other incident I heard about was much later, in the mid to late 90's, when rawat threw a divine tantrum at the rez, and threatened his closest followers that this time it was "for real"....I remember that charanand, padarthanand, maybe even jagdeo, and a few westerners were summoned to the rez to beg him to come back....I heard about this from someone who is very reliable, who's best friend was doing security at the rez at that time...he seemed to think that these tantrums happened fairly regularly, but this time he was actually threatening to blow the whole scene, and they had to bring in some of the heavyweight devotees for some heavyweight begging and ass kissing...prem stayed onboard, and the good ship rawat still sails today.....

Can you believe we ever bought into any of this???
