To be clear, I was an atheist when I arrived on the Rawat cult scene and now that I've untangled the mess Maharaji made out of my belief-system about who he was to me:  The Living Incarnation of God walking on Planet Earth, a god-in-a-bod who proclaimed to have special, supernatural, and great powers, I returned to my original conclusions, which I arrived at at age fifteen. You obviously deeply believe in Maharaji's divinity, but it's based upon a stage act.  I understand where you're coming from because I've been there, done it.

Whether or not I believe or disbelieve in God has no bearing on my conclusions about what Jagdeo did and and when Maharaji knew he did it and Maharaji's subsequent actions and lack of action regarding the same.  Jagdeo was an agent/employee of Maharaji, who is the spiritual head of a legally registered church in the United States, whether or not it's on corporate papers anymore. You do know that, right? That Elan Vital continues to enjoy church status as a non-profit corp. in the U.S.?  Not a simple non-profit, but a church!  Meanwhile, right on TPRF (another non-profit, but not a church) FAQs, Maharaji lies about not offering a religion, philosophy, or a spiritual path.  It's his personal website and he's responsible for it's content.  He want's his cake and to eat it too.  This defies logic.  He's lying.  Your belief in him is proof of his lies, too.

Jagdeo committed heinous crimes against children, just as the priests in the Catholic church committed crimes over periods of decades, while protecting themselves under U.S. taxpayer funded secrecy.  There was no accountability.  So the Bishops, Cardinals, etc. of the RCC LIED to cover up the abuse of the pedophile priests.  They did the same thing Maharaji did:  covered it up.

Regarding why bad things happen to people.  My opinion is it's because there are some very bad people in the world who hurt others -- I don't see it as a big mystery to solve.  Prem Rawat is most definitely in the bad category and not only because of the Jagdeo abuses.  But, you are so self-absorbed in your inner experience and your outer worship of Maharaji, you don't know how to correctly use your mind anymore.

Also, please refrain from lecturing Susan.  It's not your place to do that because you've proven over and over again your refusal to use your so-called skepticism or your mind to scrutinize Maharaji.  You're right, you don't know what happened.  Plus, you refuse to use the brain your God gave you in order to try to understand the issues.  That's called cognitive dissonance.  Look it up.  You also engage in an enormous amount of magical thinking.  Look that up too.

I want to respond specifically to some things you stated:

"If it hadn't been for Maharaji, my life would almost certainly have become a real hell, directly and indirectly as a result of the abuse I suffered - that was the direction my life was heading until the day I first heard about Maharaji. So that's what I mean when I think of Maharaji in terms of "God only knows what I'd be without you"."

That is exactly what I used to think, but I look at this in a completely opposite way now.  If I hadn't been wasting my life in my involvement with Maharaji and his cult, I would have had more time in my life to deal with the recovery from my own childhood abuse.  I wasted years not getting real help about those issues because I either had my head under a meditation blanket, was sitting in satsang meetings, or I was nearly killing myself doing service for him that caused me to become very ill -- at his PERSONAL REQUEST.  Also, there was a point that Maharaji was clear about premies not getting mental heathcare.  I wasted so much time worshipping him at his request.  "Surrender the reins of your life to me."  I did what he asked and he didn't deliver. I thought he was delivering on his promise but as it turned out no matter how much I ever did for his lazy ass or how much I tried to obey his "Agya," he told me (and all premies) I was failing.  THAT'S how bad of a teacher he was and continues to be.  Here's another myth for you:  Maharaji  works hard.  Fact is, Maharaji is one of the laziest people I've ever met.  He only does what he wants while telling you he works hard. Fact is, he's always been waited on hand and foot.  He's a lazy-assed user.

"Sometimes when other people on this board talk about Maharaji, and when I talk about Maharaji, it's like we are talking about two totally different people."

Precisely!  Same person, different sides to Maharaji!  That's the whole point you have missed or refuse to look at.   That's about the only correct thing you gotten out of reading and posting here so far.  People here have been trying to talk to you about this, but because you have so much faith in the "Maharaji" based on his performance on a stage (make no mistake about that -- it is a performance) you have been convinced that how he presents himself on the stage is the real person. You are missing the entire picture because you refuse to look at the entire picture even when there is ample evidence that proves Maharaji is actually quite a nasty person and a deceiver.

You don't have to lose whatever experiential "within" experiences you have that you have attributed to Maharaji for so many decades. There are people who have left Maharaji behind and still meditate, but the difference is that they no longer have a chain around their necks connected directly to Prem Rawat (for life) anymore.  Actually, ex-premies who still practice some form of meditation or religion have reported their lives are much, much better since cutting that enormous cord between them and Maharaji.

Personally, I don't care if you remain a devotee of Maharaji for the rest of your life. You've been presented with the facts, you refuse to use your mind to think about them because you've placed your entire faith in someone who you have never even met, have only seen on a stage, and now that you've got EPO to read, you still refuse to accept any vestige of truth (not capital "T" truth) the real truth about Maharaji as a person who cons people out of their lives.

Make no mistake about it however, you are in a personality cult and you worship a living person.  It is a cult and you could have healed from the pain of your own abuse without Maharaji in you life, you just don't know it or refuse to see it.
