Re: Greater than God! -- POV | Top of thread | Forum |

This is sooooo old. -POV It's from time immemorial, dude, beyond old. You should know this. -San But in case you haven't heard the story the full quote, here it is again. "God is great but guru is greater because he reveals god". Tell me a story! Tell me a story! A man is dying of thirst in the desert. A man turns up with water and saves his life. What saves him? The water? No. The man who provides the water? Yes. The man is greater than the water. Because even though 70% of the planet is water, even though 70% of your body is water, you can't get to it. In the dying man's case, the man is more important, more powerful, more life saving, more necessary because he reveals water at that time of need. Really? What if the man showed up but had no water? Nothing, the guy still dies of thirst. But if it rained or if the dying man found a pond or stream, water but no man, he would survive. For the man with the water to think he is more important than the water is just pride. It is a privilege to be the man with the water for the dying man, it is treasure in Heaven for the giver of the water. But it is not to be played upon and profited from, like the folks are charging $100. for a flu shot because there is a shortage. And it is not for a man to make other men indebted to them for helping them to find water or God or anything. Brotherhood and Humanity is beyond owing each other just for being human. Likewise God is everywhere but what use is god to you if you can't conect with god. So the guru shows you god and he is more important, more powerful, more life saving, more necessary than god to you at that tiime of need. Obviously if there was no such thing as water than the man couldn't save your life and if there was no such thing as god then a guru couldn't show you. But like all parables, it shouldn't be taken too literally. Really? Does that also go for his Omniscience? Is that why he did not know about Jagdeo? Because it was just an allegory that he was Omniscient? Maybe it is just an allegory of God that he reveals, too, POV. Ever consider that? Arti? It's an allegory! Unless you really believe that the creator, preserver, destroyer bow their head to anyone. You know who I mean. Brahma, the creator, the one with 4 heads and 4 arms, his wife, Sarasvati is the goddess of wisdom. Vishnu, the preserver, often shown as one of his 9 incarnations ("avatars"), as fish, tortoise, a boar etc. And good old Shiva, the destroyer, he's the one with five wives and a son who has the head of an elephant. Anyone who said they didn't understand that Arti was allegorical and not to be taken literally is a fool or a liar and probably both. I don't think too many premies thought it was an allegory back then, especially after kissing his feet. We really did believe he was the Superior Power in Person, and I personally believe that is what he wanted us to think. Maybe you are the infidel, not us. We bought in and bought out from the heart both ways, while you are still in the bleachers and in your mind where allegories live, not really participating in this reality, just being the eternal hypocrite with a big mouth, in your mind! And last but not least, I also know the past, present and future of everyone I see. They weren't, they are, they won't be. How Zen of you. But that is not what he meant to convey to Jethro and us and you know it. The more I read EPO and the Forum the more I am reminded of a group of people who criticise their parents because all they claim their parents talked about was Father Christmas and Three Bears and Cinderella and they have been confused for the rest of their lives. Never sure whether their soup is too hot, too cold or just right and wasting their lives trying to buy some glass slippers. And you POV, remind me of a very tormented person who is going through an inner battle out here on this Forum and doesn't even realize it. You have strained at gnats and have swallowed camels in our interactions here. You have delved into side issues to the enth degree but you have not addressed the central issue. I know how hard it is to look and this thing straight on and be honest with yourself at the same time. I know because I went through it myself. Everything you have based your life on for the last many years is being challenged by Truth and Innocent Children Who Were Hurt By Jagdeo Who Damn Well Should Have Been Better Managed By His Master And You Know It. Four Years, POV, AT LEAST Four Years Without Being Noticed By The Superior Power In Person! Just keep on going, and get it out of your system. Right now you are in an intellectual puking stage, but that will pass and we will talk again if you wish. Modified by San at Thu, Oct 14, 2004, 22:51:00 |
