There must be dozens of other 'successful investors of independent means' all over the world who came on as God to their followers and convinced many in the last 30 - 40 years.  We happened to bond with Prem Rawat, and because of that we now spend a large part of our intellectual, emotional and intuitive energies coming to grips with that and expressing it here with others who went through it too.  It was obviously a deep experience and one that we invested alot of juice in, time, loyalty, love, money, life energy itself.  Therefore the extraction is tangled and needs to be done with great care and sensitivity.

It seems that Prem Rawat does not feel it like we do, even though he said he feels 'every leaf fall and little every birdy fall' and all that (Gita), but he does not seem to feel what has been so eloquently and sincerely expressed on these pages.  So his heart must be programmed to only feel one way toward the infinite, but not toward his fellow human beings.  That makes me wonder about the authenticity of his infinite connection, because I believe the two are intimately and inextricably united.

Knowing that there are other people who are experiencing pretty much the same things we are, but were following other 'teachers', there is a degree of comfort and some of the edge is taken off.  He was not unique in his game, just in his personal presentation.  This is not a 'misery loves company' thing, but rather a 'strength in numbers' thing.

So my grandma used to say that 'education costs money'.  If we learned something from all this, then it was not for nothing.  We learned from the school of life, from an 'artful dodger', and we got educated about who and what to look out for down the road.  For some of us, the tuition was higher than for others and the lesson were more intense.  This cannot be undone, just learned from and hopefully avoided in the future....and to those who do not need to learn the 'hard way' perhaps these posts and the archives will spare passersby some unnecessary pain and suffering.
