Anyone remember a film with Peter Fonda in it as a Cult leader guy - nice young man joins cult, becomes one of Fonda's top devotees, this guy's family try to rescue him, finally kidnap him, have him deprogrammed ( by James Woods?). Bloke recovers and confronts Peter Fonda ,( slaps him (oh!), everyone lives happily ever after (except Peter Fonda) The End.

From 70's I think, waht was it called?

Thanks, that is the very film. Split Image is not a great tilte, don't remember it being called that, but that's what it's called.

Know of any other films in a similar vein, religious cults, history of, cult rescue? There is one about story of Mormonism - know that one?

The Amish  featured a little in Kingpin which was hilarious.
