The Ex Gallery has been updated with some examples of Prem Rawat, the monthly pinup artist.

Gallery,

That's just the kind of calendar that this former devotee would have cut up, frame each photo and smother all walls of my home, except the bathroom, because that was against the cult rules.

The April caption:

"This is such a Knowledge.  This is the true key to independence -- the independence you are looking for.  This Knowledge is the key for peace -- the peace you are looking for."

I miss all the independence Maharaji granted me, by His Grace...before I became such an evil apostate.  He gets way too much sun.  One of those moles is going to turn out to be cancer if he's not careful.

Which reminds me - I once papered an entire wall in a room in my flat with pictures of the Lord. One night I found some fellow in my room during a small impromptu party that had spilled over from the flat next door. Just as I came into the room, the fellow recognised who it was in the pictures, and he really took offense. I asked him to leave, and he started tearing into the pictures, and in exasperation, I threw his drink over him and he went off. He came back 5 minutes later with a carving knife. He got me cornered. I picked up my pillow - all there was, and just as he lunged, his friends from next door came in and took him away - to Wales, they told me.

We didn't need the police in those days - just grace. So naive, for so long....

There was this English premie I met was was travelling in Florida at one point with some other folks.  Anyway, one night he was with some friend on a dope deal, like many premies do as we know, and they were done over by their supplier.  Anyway, to cut a long story short, his friend was shot dead next to him and the killer turned his gun to the premie, wherupon the premie said something like 'please maharaji!', and the killer walked away, into the night.

Yeah, it's all down to the Grace .....

The power of delusion knows no bounds.

"A long time ago, a seed was planted. It is time that it bears fruit."

I'll say it is time. It was time 30 years ago. This guy has gone past chutzpah into seriously delusional and those photos! Actually when I have a second look at them though I wonder if he isn't taking the mickey out of his premies. or maybe the person who put the calendar together is taking the mickey. It's just too bizarre.

Prof. Geeves argues passionately that M is "iconoclastic" !

I pointed out that Rawat had in fact made himself into the icon. No reply from Prof G..

Surely this sort of publication and a cursory analysis of the mentality it adresses support my contention, Ron?

As if you care. As if I care! The memory of this sort of lurid adoration though is embarrasing to me.

Just a calender though huh Ron? Jus an innocent calender?

Love

Bryn

Well of course it does. But Ron's position doesn't really seem to respond to the normal logic of the every day world and I would guess that the counter to your very sound contention would be along the lines of:

"Maharaji is constantly challenging our perceptions, as an iconoclast he even challenges our notions of iconoclasm by making himself an iconoclasitic icon"

- see Bryn you may be very smart but you can't outwit Maharaji.

I'd love to put this to the test.

"- see Bryn you may be very smart but you can't outwit Maharaji."

I wish Bryn and Maharaji could sit and argue it out together in a battle of wits. My money would be on Bryn, but then it would also be on you or anyone else here, in that scenario. As if Maharaji would, without his army of advisers and interpreters to back him up.  (I realise you were probably jesting.)

No just living up to a stereotype and indulging in bitter sarcasm

...the old double spiritual somersault, sideways, backflip routine. Silly me.

I could perhaps reply with the Heimlich Manoevre, or simply declare Mornington Crescent. ( esoteric brit joke, impossible to explain).

You've got to admire these Gurus and their spawn. They've carefully chosen the perfect arena for trumpeting gloriously about themselves and getting paid for it, without the slightest possibility of ever being called to account! Clever in a way.

I wish them the paralysis they obviously crave.

Love
Bryn
