So can exercise, watching funny movies, and just talking to nice people (hi, ya'll). But when it gets really f***ed up is when people put their hooks into the thing: food becomes bait. P.S. why does it cost $175,000 to teach meditation to schoolkids? Send one teacher to a training...how hard can it be? Red flag... And who is deciding the price of the TM training? TM! I have a friend, an old surfer, who has been using TM for decades and finds it helpful in life. Releasing the tension on the bow is how he described it once but he says anything to do with the Maharishi is always about one thing: money. Mind you, the Maharishi is about 90 years old so TM might have significant health benefits compared to Rawatism because the two greatest exponents of Rawatism, the eldest and youngest brothers Rawat share an astonishing obesity problem and only the miracles of modern medicine are going to see them through many more decades. I remember when satellite satsang was going to be the next big thing and propagation wold really take off now that there'd be no more need for public meetings but premies could invite people into their homes to see Rawat on satellite TV at 11am on Sunday morning. Didn't happen! Now many premies in Australia have useless satellite dishes and settop boxes in their homes. At the time I could make a quick snap judgement about the relative success of TM and EV. EV could afford an hour a week of satelite time and TM could afford 168 hours a week of satellite time and could actually fill it (though there was much fluff) because in TM there are people who are allowed to speak publicly about TM.
