Does anyone else recall when Maharaji purportedly said (as broadcast by a variety of those neurotic 'initiators') that any premie who made it with him through 1978 would be with him forever? Actually, the story was that, during this 'super-devotional period' (circa 1977-1983)  I think John Miller was talking with Maharaji about how 'full of mind' the year 1976 had been. Maharaji responded something to the effect of 'if you think 1976 was bad, wait until you see 1978!!' and 'any premie who makes it with me through 1978, will be with me forever.' Does anyone else recall this? I remember it was something I heard repeatedly. I recall at the time thinking I had to "stay the course" no matter what because something "big" was going to happen. I also recall somebody who wanted to move out of the ashram and was told, also repeatedly, that this person could NOT leave, because something really big was going to happen. Is the "something really big is going to happen" thing still part of the Rawat cult, or have the premies just given up on that and have just accepted their mundane Rawat Religion?  (Which appears to be a combination of cult social status, being able to afford trips to Australia, and a kind of apathy towards anything else going on in the world.) Maharaji was saying its time for a change and next programs in India will be in  2007 Planned events have apparently been cancelled and the scene seems set for the usual about turn when something in Rawat world has gone belly up. Are  increasing fuel prices hitting the travel budget ? Has The Keys project produced a wharehouse full of DVDs that Visions can't shift ? Has trying to sell four international events a year to an ever smaller band of premies broken the cash stream ? Whatever the answer, nothing of it will be Rawat's fault and the change of direction will be presented as a triumph of strategy. Maharaji has stripped away every... blah blah blah).  But remember, nobody's given m a real chance yet.  He'll be revealing his wonderful perfect plan any day now. All we have to do is stick it out for another millenium or two and we'll surely get to see the big thing he's always nattering on about. I'd say they're still into it.  Something big is always going to happen... someday.  You know, like the Red Queen, "Jam yesterday and jam tomorrow, but NEVER jam today!  That's the rule."  Always jam somewhere in premie-land.
