Anth,

I basically agree with you.  It's all to the good to see someone as a whole person, not just their words or actions in isolated circumstances.  Although I abhor post-modernism for the most part, I guess I am also a relativisit when it comes to what one is so sure about at any given time, including being in and out of the cult.

So when it comes to Glen or Ron or any of the others, we can speculate on their motivations, which might not always be complimentary, but then there is also the objective reality about the falsity (and to people who know the truth the implied insult), of what they do and say.  That's what is great about the Passages video and some of the things Glen has written, for example, and the Elan Vital "FAQs" which have changed drastically over the years (I believe based on the ridicule EV has received from ex-premies, and perhaps the nodding agreement of many premies), which in and of itself has been something interesting to watch.

But some of those were pportunities to see people actually try to express what they say is objective reality, not just their own, internal "experience," or some other subjective opinion.  So those things are really fair game, and rare in a cult that is prone to such extreme secrecy.

And especially in this medium, in which you have to just write in black and white, it's very hard to point out lies without impuning the liar, in the case of Glen and Ron for example, we all know they know the truth and so we can call them liars.  Now, they are also in a cult, and that's mixed in with their own cult careers (I'm not sure about Glen, but I think Ron has ambitions to be numero uno cult apologist), and that is also important to understand.  Could I be friends with those people?  Probably not if I was pointing out the lying, but if I wanted to remain friends with them, I would just let somebody else do it.
