I too count Glen as an old friend (35 years), although I admit we don't contact each other much these days.

How can you count as a friend, someone who aids, abets and, in fact, ENCOURAGES cult activity?

Pretty simple really, cos I aided, abetted and, in fact, encouraged cult activity for many years myself. I have learned to live with myself as a friend (finally, took a bit of doing), so I extend that to Glen as well.

It's one thing to be bamboozled, it's quite another to KNOW that the bamboozlement is happening and encouraging it.

That is one of the marks of being in a cult - that 'bamboozlement' (not quite sure you mean there) for the Lord is OK, since he is the Lord, not a leaf stirs but by his grace etc, and all else is maya. I thought like that for a long time - I think it is stupid to still think like that, but lots of my friends do stupid things, as do I.

There is a distinct difference between those that KNOW and CONTINUE and the others who FOUND OUT and STOPPED!

Yes, there is a difference, of course, and I hope Glen moves from the first category into the second.

If Glen is one of the former, and it looks like he is, how can you even count that person as a "friend?"

If you have a true friend, and that friend does something stupid, dishonest even, does that mean he/she is no longer your friend? I think friendship is stronger than that.

I disagree with what Glen has said on behalf of his Lord, and I agree that it should be held up to scrutiny, and it should be pointed out here on this Forum and elsewhere. So I will (and I do) criticise what he said publicly, but personally I like the guy and still consider him a friend. That does not excuse him of course.

And if this all appears inconsistent, then so be it. Friendship is a bit inconsistent sometimes.
