There are shortcuts to many things in life, but there is no shortcut when the heart is going to be the judge. The heart cannot be talked into anything. The mind can be convinced, but the heart has to feel the real thing.

Maharaji really needs to come into the 21st century. It's been known for sometime that the "heart" is actually located in the "mind". In fact the "heart" is actually just a primitive part of the brain known as the limbic system. It's the center of our emotional mind that's responsible for modifying our rational mind so we make more appropriate decisions. That's really what the "heart" is good for. That is the extent of the role it plays. And it's an important one. Without it, we wouldn't be able to make decisions on anything, we'd just be stuck in a rational loop weighing endlessly all the pros and cons of every problem before us. Likewise, the emotional mind without the good judgement of its rational conterpart to restrain it would leave us at the mercy of every passion and prejudice that occurs to us.

Trying to disassociate these two minds from one another is equivalent to an attempt to reverse a million years of evolution. The two evolved to work together, not apart from or against one another. It's a false dichotomy, and only the ignorant who can't find the time to educate themselves stilll adhere to it.
