I just do not like the black&white perspective of an evil, charlatan cult leader who brainwashes naive innocent youngster and then exploits them. There is of course, some truth in it but reality is more complex than that.
Or the opposite perspective of an apostate anti-cult hate group that threatens peoples' right to exercise freedom of religion.
So here we have Andries, for the umpteenth time, conceding that there is "some truth" to the notion that Rawat is an evil, charlatan cult leader, but never explaining where that description's false or inaccurate. The fact is, whatever Rawat believes of himself, he is exactly all of that as described. The complexities just fill in the picture, that's all.
But what's really offensive is Andries' bullshit contrasting of that essential fact with the ridiculous cult propaganda ploy of blaming exes as an apostate, hate-group. It sounds as if Andries finds some appeal in that judgement as well.
Of course, trying to reason any of this out with Andries is impossible. One just goes in circles.
I'd love to hear Andries' defenders on this one!
