Why can't you be a bit more tolerant of different opinions? oh and btw Dr. Paul Schnabels quote that was deleted by the moderators was also meant for you. "Whenever there is an absolute truth at stake, the manners become careless. This applies both to the owners as well as their opponents of that truth and to all people involved." Schnabel in his 1982 Dutch language book Between stigma and charisma: new religious movements and mental health/Tussen stigma en charisma: nieuwe religieuze bewegingen en volksgezondheid ISBN 90-6001-746-3 (Deventer, Van Loghum Slaterus), page 343.
I am tolerant of different opinions. I love a good, reasoned argument and can indeed change my mind. Indeed, I've changed my mind about you, haven't I?
Like I said earlier, Schnabel's point here is useless. It's vague, simplistic and unhelpful. If he were here we could discuss his thoughts more fully but he's not. Instead, there's just you doggedly waving yet another NRM scholar at us. Why did you never deal with any of the criticisms I and others have made of NRM scholarship generally? How many times have I tried to engage you on that issue only to see you sidestep it?
Moreover, you're only using this quote to insult us, to suggest however obliquely that we're untrustworthy historians and critics.
So enough with the insults already. Enough with Andries! That's what I say.
