That was the sound of a hammer coming down on the heads of American children. For the first time the Senate tie had to be decided for a cabinet nomination by the VP, the evil Mike Pence, who believes that " You can pray the gayness out" and fought hard to allow for religious freedom laws enabling business owners to not to have to serve gays. Kudos to the 2 Alaskan Republican Senators who voted against Billionaire, anti -public school bitch Betsy DeVos, and to my friends who called and e-mailed their offices continually. The public outcry was the reason they gave for going against their party. Although only 8 cents of every education dollar spent comes from federal funds, this makes strides to keep people dumb, divided and afraid and thus helping buffoons get elected in the first place. For someone who ran on being against the establishment he sure has already been very nice to Wall Street, polluters and war mongers. It's not the Mexicans or Muslims that are the problem, it's the billionaires.

Bad news. Another blow for keeping religion out of the classroom - she and her evangelical Christian (cult) agenda is to divert public funds to Christian-style education. Saw a recent article about textbooks by a major evangelical Christian home-school textbook publisher, used by right-wing (aka evangelical) home schoolers. One of their second-grade level books talks about how wonderful it must have been for (Biblical) Adam and Eve to be able to play with dinosaurs. This is but one of many examples of why this appointment is so scary, and the ultra-right Christian cult has been working for this for decades. The U.S. is in big trouble, with such cult beliefs more and more in control. Ergo, the rest of the world is potentially in trouble, too.

Maybe that fable is true, and all that inbreeding explains why we are such a self destructive species. I guess he is draining the swamp, but refilling it with toxic urine.
