Oh, I so didn't remember posting that. I thought it sounded more like something Lesley might have written. Curious, I did a search and it was me after all, possibly emulating Lesley.

I was once employed as a ghost writer by an author who was a good friend. He had more to write than he had time for. I knew next to nothing about the subject. I stared at a blank screen for a couple of days, many false starts. Then in a flash of inspiration, I thought, what would he write? And I imagined being him, with a story to move on, and doing it in his voice, which I knew well.

That worked great. Later, we edited some parts over the phone. He edited some of my stuff and then I edited some of his edits and we ended up laughing, no longer knowing whose lines were whose, and figured that if we couldn't tell who had written what, no-one else would suspect there was any other author involved but him.

It might be hard for any of us after all this time posting here to claim any originality. For sure, I lose track of who said what, even if it was me.

Might be an age thing though too.
