I guess we have to add breathing to the list of essentials, like eating or sleeping that you can get screwed up over, lol. Breathing is something I am going to keep doing til I don’t anymore, and my consciousness of it, and the consequent regulation of my chemistry, how I feel about being aware of my breath is very personal. And obviously important to me.
It’s not that I don’t appreciate advice on my breathing, I do. Way back in my childhood I remember my mum telling me to take a few deep breaths when I wanted to calm down. And I have spent many a happy hour throughout my life aware of my breathing, in company and on an individual basis.
I resent having been advised to practise a breathing technique religiously, every day no less. Quite apart from all the phalooey we were being fed…..what an interference that is.
It’s now over four years for me and I consider it to have been a period of recovery from breath abuse. It is going really quite well….....
