In the book 'Hear Yourself' Rawat's minions have come up with some new ways of retelling some of the events of his life by removing everything specific and leaving something generic.

But there is something new.

Rawat's brains-trust have come up with a very good retelling of the standard story of the sudden illumination of Cosmic Consciousness in the garden with a nice touch - under the magnolia trees. Rawat has spent 50 years without ever telling this story and has always denigrated the reality of any "personal realisation" claimed without using His Knowledge.

In the nearly 1,000 copies of his speeches I have, he has never once before used the phrases "into the garden" or "grasp the moment" or "open to the day" or "into the feeling" or "a perfect sentiment" or "felt good just to be" or "a perfect moment" or "this day is for you." It's not his story because it's not his vocabulary.

One day I went out into the garden and had this desire to grasp the moment. I remember my heart was entirely open to the day and I was happy walking around inspecting everything growing there. A little later, I was sitting under one of the magnolia trees, looking at the clouds and the flowers, when I had an overpowering sense that whatever created me also made these magnolia trees and the perfumed flowers, and put the dew on the lawn, and carried the sun from horizon to horizon, and made those fat clouds float across the blue sky. In that moment, the he or she or it that originally created me said, very softly: "Just feel." It was a perfect sentiment for a perfect moment. Just feel. From then on I could sit under that magnolia tree and go into a feeling in which I had no wants, no wishes, no inner need to do anything. It felt good just to be. Ever since, a voice has continued to say to me: "This day is for you," and it means that day back in the garden just as it means the day I'm living in right now.

Maybe Monika is right, we are about to see the next wave of new people clamoring for Rawat's Knoledge

Wasn't that book ghost-written? That would explain it.

Intimate details about Rawat's personal revelations that he has spent his life suggesting people emulate - written by someone else.

It's not the one man trying to tell the truth as he experienced it. It's an industry, truthiness rather than truth.

George Burns: Sincerity - if
you can fake that you've got it made.

I'd add - And if you can get someone else to fake it for you you've really got it made.

Chatgpt may have helped.

So might adding the phrase 'in the style of Prem Rawat' which in my experimentation, Chatgpt had no trouble copying.

Interesting --  I tried out just the same.   Another job opportunity that AI is going to eventually remove.  Maybe all the LOTU's, gurus, new age advisers and other assorted charlatans could get together with the artists and musicians to complain that AI sampling and recombination infringes copyright?

If AI can absorb and regurgitate all the gurus and new age truthiness into one virtual Messiah, well, what more could you ask for? A Messiah on tap, in any style you like - Arabic and Aramaic all the way to Zulu - spreading the same truthiness throughout the world dressed to suit in your own culture and available at all times to offer you your own intimate personal advice.

God's got the copyright.

Has anybody done this yet, John?  A sort of laid back highly accessible Virtual Messiah that you can tell your intimate details to.  It sounds like a real money spinner to me.

The fight must be on.

I don't know if it's been done. Something like that seems inevitable.

it does seem inevitable doesn't it.  Already there is brand loyalty that knows no bounds - numbers of groups like the conspiracy theorists are showing us that.

rather terrifying really.  I have this thing where I think about AI briefly then it sort of disappears out of my mind because it's too scary to contemplate it's future and I end up thinking I hope the huge gas planet comes first.

The first thing that popped into my mind was 2001's HAL with a god complex derived from all the scriptures, libraries and everything else on the internet written by prophets, priests, gurus, monks and the hordes of self-help authors and life coaches. I suppose it all started a long time ago when I was obsessed with my 8 Ball.

Combine all that with smart homes, smart cars, smart TVs, smart appliances and smart everything, and you have the makings of instant karma (real-life consequences) to go with it. One small transgression and your lights go out or you find yourself locked out, groveling on your own doorsteps confessing your sins and praying for forgiveness grace in front of your security system camera and microphone.

Kinda like our former invisible friend on steroids with a bad attitude.

I hear that experts warn of AI's potential for dire consequences all the way up to the end of civilization as we know it or even extinction, but I've never heard any of them lay out the scenarios. (I'm leaning towards mass insanity leading to all kinds of the types of calamaties we're already seeing.) Whatever AI's dark side has in store, not to be confused with its light side (holy crap, that just made me think of a virtual Mahabharata as AI fights itself in cyberspace with real-life special effects!), I see my former self as a premie riding it out under a sheet with a hot cup of chai and cheating with a beragon in my old age as I happily hum a bhajan.

Speaking of beragons, when I looked-up the spelling, I stumbled on a pretty slick model... with a carrying case! I didn't know it was also called the Aum technique:

A little while go I discovered a TV program called Shark Tank.  That was what popped into my head at the idea of a virtual messiah.

Who doesn't want their product to be endorsed by God.

So we have a fight - I think it's already happening.  And I think that like all these fights, it will end up with a small group of 'virtual messiahs' who will be competing with each other.

Just like we have in real life.

Messiahs promise heaven but threaten hell.

It's just very frightening isn't it.  Particularly after having been subject to such an unlikeable living messiah as 'Maharaji'.

I go straight to the immediacy of being bullied via a micro chip.

So I am starting a prayer group.  Oh most holy and huge gas planet in the stars, you can gasbag us all you like.  In your infinite grace please come before the microchips arrive.

I posted this video with a request for someone to explain it.

https://www.facebook.com/100067439862173/videos/724055072829107/

"This looks like the dry run in India of a system that was designed to connect electronically to an individual premie’s bank account. The longer you press on Prem’s 3rd eye. the more money is drained from your account. When your bank account has been emptied, you’re given a mild electric shock to encourage you to move on.
The system was modified over the years and finally implemented as The Major Donor project."

From the article: "Poe phrased his law thus: Without a winking smiley or other blatant display of humor, it is utterly impossible to parady a Creationist in such a way that someone won't mistake it for the genuine article."

The first thought that popped into my mind was the premie comments under the "Coffee Shop" video that were clearly aimed at "the creator" while many of us were thinking something like "you've got to be kidding!"

Not a perfect analogy, but - in spite of those "be in the moment" lurkers - I have no control over my first thoughts any more or less than they do.)

"In that moment, the he or she or it that originally created me said, very softly: "Just feel."

That's odd. In one of his earlier versions of the story, the voice said "You are He." So why does the cult accuse his son of false memories and let Prem off the hook?

And as I was reading that (the first time you posted it), I asked myself, "So what did you do with that feeling?" In that moment, a voice popped into my head, too! It was the voice of the late Paul Harvey: "And now for the rest of the story."

You can imagine what I wrote before I tossed it.

That's all I can say to / about him.

"He" adorns himself with borrowed plumes. (But this is what he was trained for from his earliest childhood. And it's his only "competence".)

As far as the laws of mathematics refer to reality, they are not certain, and as far as they are certain, they do not refer to reality. Albert Einstein
