Hi there Alice. It is always good to see new folks show up here and bring their own unique perspectives. Could you tell us a little bit more about your involvement with the cult? How did you get involved? What made you begin to question your involvement? How did you find EPO and the forum? I am always curious about these things!

Welcome.
Marianne

Hi Marianne,

I married into the cult, but never really understood
what all the fuss was about (probably to old to take to an avatar), so never really got involved. I got
knowledge after many years of occasional visits to events, when the
opportunity arose. Partly because I wanted to see if I was missing something, (I always blamed myself), but probably, if I'm honest, also so that I had the convenience of attending K only
events. I never practiced properly, too uncomfortable, so I still don't know.

As I've said before I just find events very negative, all I hear is how terrible and dangerous the world is, and get the feeling that basically I'd better practice or die! Just out of interest I copied bits from Marolyn's satsang into positive benefits and negative, it's exactly the sort of stuff I hear today. I've pasted it below, you could call it 'guns & roses'.

Alice

supreme experience.

there's some beautiful
roses growing and beautiful trees and flowers

and blossoms and if you
stand up you can smell this.

It's like he has given us
weapons to arm ourselves

But if we have this
weapon, this Knowledge: there's satsang, that is one bullet and there's
service, that is another

smell the sweet rose of
Knowledge and it's always blooming, it's always giving fragrance, it's so
incredibly beautiful

we are not doing him a
favour by taking the weapon to shoot the enemy. He's doing us the favour by
giving it to us

one big beautiful song of
praise to our Lord.

Knowledge is the power
that is creating and sustaining this whole universe, this whole creation

mind is really such a
tricker, such a dangerous thing

robs us of the most
precious experience that we can have and it's continually there to rob us, to
take us away because the mind is the thing that wants power.

Power is the thing that
has corrupted this whole world

You don't have to be
wallowing in the gutter.

the mind is a shark and
it's very unpredictable and we can't really say for sure what that shark is
going to do at any given moment.

When your leg has gone,
what do you do?

the world is getting
crazier, and crazier, and crazier,

So if we have this weapon,
we would be very foolish if we didn't use it

man is getting more jumpy
and more edgy and more crazy

It's like we were walking
along this dirty old gutter all our life and we were just, "What is this
life all about? It's just terrible, it just stinks, it's just rotten, it's just
dirty, filthy filth that we are walking in"

we are just crawling on
our hands and knees and we are crying out, "Why, why? God help me

We don't have to be just
suffering through the stink of the world mind

Hi too Alice,

love your "guns and roses" deconstruction. Fascinating in a way in it's blatant black and white paradigm of life. I guess that's what makes cults attractive.
