The web site with a ranking of 1 has the most web traffic. Page views and reach can also be compared. If you compare it with a web site with lots of traffic, maharaji.net looks flat-lined. As of Jan 2006, these were the sites with the highest rankings: 1. yahoo.com 2. msn.com 3. google.com 4. baidu.com 5. yahoo.co.jp 6. sina.com.cn 7. ebay.com 8. sohu.com 9. 163.com 10. passport.net

It looks like Rawat's cult is dwindling. There are fewer and fewer people involved and the people still involved are getting increasingly disillusioned, irritated, and bored. Attendance at Amaroo is declining and there are few local programs. Rawat claims the number of people "receiving Knowledge" is going up, but I believe him as much as I believe Big Brother or Scientologists. These cults and their stats, if the numbers are going down, they'll say they are going up. 2 + 2 = 5, believe it 'cause Big Brother says so.

One of my still premie friends told me a few weeks ago that he'd cancelled his standing order to EV(UK) last year.
Only £15 per month, but every little helps.......heh, heh.

Cult statistics are wonderful. For example, when you go to a big event with three sessions over two days, you are counted as being in attendance for each time you go through the turnstile. Maybe if you go to the loo twice during the initiation session, you're counted as receiving knowledge, getting your keys cut, or whatever eyeball pressing and snot licking is called these days, three times.
Also, the knowledge session apparently consists of watching a "how to meditate, jingle the keys or whatever" DVD. So nowadays someone who simply watches the movie is counted as receiving knowledge. Presumably if you watch it twice, you get the keys poked in your ear twice ("receive knowledge" in the old cult jargon. I'm not au fait with the new cultspeak.
I love statistics.
Oh yeah, in some circumstances 2 + 2 indeed make 5. (I'm thinking of 2 single parents getting together, each with a child already, then having another one.)
Time for my medication,
anth, statistically blindfolded.
