Somewhere down below Andries reminded me about the Mishler interviews.  Although the actual audio of these interviews have been online since 2002 (on EPO) the actual quality and file size of the audio has made them generally in-accessible.

I have taken the original source material and redone the interviews to make the quality better (Mishler's voice was too much in the background) and the file sizes are now much smaller.

Click on the following links:

Streaming mode

Download mode

Side A                        Side B

For the technical curious, these files are about 10mb each (lasting 20-25 mins) and have been encoded at 56 kbs (so hopefully will be ok on dialup), using MP3Pro codec in Mono.

When time allows I will create a page somewhere linking these files as well as the transcripts that have been done so far.  Not all of the Mishler's interviews have actually been transcribed into text.

Good timing on this coming back up to the top, as I was just cleared to post a response to the other thread where this was posted:

Adding to the apparent momentum of the attempt
amongst the students of Rawat to discredit the Mishler transcript, now
another Wikipedia user claims on the Rawat talk page to "remember"
reading on the ex-premie.org website that the transcript was a
fabrication. Again a claim is being made without any supporting
documentation. This user states, "When the interview first appeared on
the EPO website back in the mid-late 90s, it was never claimed that it
was a real interview. It began, if my memory is accurate, with a
statement to the effect that this is what Mishler
would have said."

This person was confusing the Mishler interview with another page that had been on EPO up until early 1998, when I removed it. The removed page
contained a fake "interview" with Rawat that was created by Jim as
satire and comedy, and was accompanied by a disclaimer. I'm not sure of
its origin but I believe that it
had to have appeared on the early Forum I (possibly a Paradise guestbook at the time) prior to
that software supporting any archiving of posts.

I don't know if it was
originally put online by Scott or by David. The site had sparse content
at the time of its writing (and no BOF), and it was probably put online as a
separate page because it was enjoyed by whoever put there. I removed the page in '98 because I felt that its presence
undercut the credibility of the factual Mishler and JM (Mr. X) interviews - even though it was funny.

A search of the Wayback machine shows that it all happened long before any substantial web archiving took place.

Hi Brian,

So nice to "hear" you again here.  And hi all, we're just making our way back home from a week's cruise (six islands in seven days).  Lots of fun for the most part.  A little cheese here and there.  But I was a Karaoke finalist, I'll have you know and am completely convinced I didn't win just because people still haven't gotten over their prejudice against Otis Redding.  After all these years too.  Sad, really.

Brian, now that you mention it, I'm sure you're right.  I did do a little spoof interview with Maharaji back when we were young(er) and it was never set out as anything but that.  Back then it was still a bit of a novelty to play with the notion of the Lord unmasked, expressing himself as a real human being, especially with all the qualities we've come to love so much.  It was just a post but it went up as EPO content at a time when the Maharaji PR machine had not yet reawoken, and when there was much, much less good extra-cult content for us to enjoy and consider.  I only imagined Rawat's obfuscations then.  We now have the benefit of his real current lies which are actually far uglier.

It was a very astute call on your part to delete it then for just the reasons you describe.  Now that the cult has started playing the full-on revisionist game, exactly like Holocaust deniers, we see how readily they'll abuse anything, even obvious humour, to form their ridiculous collage of lies.  I'm still being defamed on the net for that other joke of mine, the one about embezzling money from the ashram.  What kind of people could stoop so low?

Anyway, Brian, I do hope you guys are doing well.

As does Laur, she says.
