On December 25th 1980, Prem Rawat, then known as The Lord of the Universe, gave satsang to various premies in Miami.

The following link are to excerpts from that satsang, both in audio format and text format.

I have uploaded the audio format in a low bit rate MP3 format so even people on slow dial-up connections will be able to listen to these extracts.

Depending on feedback I may receive, I may tidy up this page at some point.  For now I have placed it up 'as is' as it seems to me very relevant to the discussion concerning Maharaji's divinity that is occuring below.

Many thanks to the people that have helped get this together. You know who you are.

I have it in hard copy, the Elan Vital magazine.  But that satsang was also at DECA and

I see the pinnacle of this as that Christmas Satsang in 1979, that's when Maharaji said that if we didn't devote to him we were going to hell, he criticized and ridiculed the ties we might have to our biological families, and said that we had no choice but to constantly strive to dedicate our lives to him. [I recall having nausea after hearing that satsang, mostly because I didn't think I had the dedication to be able to do that and that I was probably going to hell.]

Now that Joy has outed herself as having done service at SHIP, I can say that she gave me a copy of that issue of Elan Vital because I think she saved it because she had done the layout for it, which I am sure made her completely blissed out at the time.

I was at the 1979 Christmas satsang, too.  At that point, nothing felt intense to me because I was so over-the-top tired, and devoted.  I'd love to read that one again, and if I remember correctly, my photo is in that issue of Elan Vital magazine taken in the DECA satsang room.

It's on EPO.  (And then I went back to work!):

The Christmas Satsang

Christmas Satsang, December 25, 1979, as published in THE DIVINE TIMES, January/February, 1980.

'And there is only one path: to become a devotee, to completely dedicate, to completely be dedicated and to completely let go of this life...And the only reason for this existence is to be a devotee. And the only thing that ever happens is devotion. And this mind, body and soul are focused on one thing and that is devotion to Guru Maharaj Ji.'

'A devotee will follow their Guru Maharaj Ji wherever Guru Maharaj Ji goes and not be involved in anything else.'

Guru Maharaj Ji's Grace is that power that pulls you out....Guru Maharaj Ji's Grace is that power that saves a being. And only when we become a devotee, only then are we even capable of receiving that Grace.'

'And the ones who deserve it get it. When those devotees those beings who have recognized their Guru Maharaj Ji, those beings. And once I was just reading that statement of Kabirdas. And he says, 'PEOPLE WHO CONSIDER GURU MAHARAJ JI SOMETHING ELSE ARE DEFINITELY BOUND TO HELL.'' THERE'S NO IF'S, AND'S AND BUT'S ABOUT IT.'

'And what do you want for Christmas?...Nobody thinks about why Jesus came into this world. Nobody thinks of that: what's really true of Knowledge, why Jesus came as Guru Maharaj Ji for those devotees, revealed Knowledge to them, gave them that experience. Nobody remembers that. Because Christ came. His purpose, was for sat chit and anand. What he came in this world for, what he revealed in this world, was this Knowledge, that love, that devotion...For a devotee it's always Merry Christmas because there is never a time in this world when Guru Maharaj Ji isn't here.'

But I mean the devotee's prayer to Guru Maharaj Ji always is, 'Oh Guru Maharaj Ji, YOU ARE ALL-POWERFUL, you are all merciful. Save me. Give me that help that I need in my life.'

That's about as incriminating of Rawat as you can get.  It's all in there, all right!

BTW -- I was in the room too, and I'm also in that picture, in the crowd of the munchkins sitting on the floor trying to absorb every abusive and insane word Rawat spoke.
