Hi,

For those who like to singalong and can't remember every one of Prem Rawat's glorious attributes I enclose the lyrics. Maybe someone could help with the missing words in 'You Are My Everything'.

And if someone had the second tape they could send it to the Gallery or maybe Lexy could contact her ex-husband??

And maybe Gallery could scan the covers and place it on the gallery as well. Funnily enough a few weeks ago just having the songs Lexy and Gallery have supplied would have made me extremely happy but my mind is calling for more, more, more. Maybe I'd better meditate.

I Surrender To My Sat Guru Dev

Chorus:
I surrender to my SatGuru Dev
I surrender to my SatGuru Dev
Who has taken my doubts away
Who has taken my doubts away
I surrender to my SatGuru Dev
I surrender to my SatGuru Dev

He made me drink his cup of love with immortal words
He made me drink his cup of love with immortal words
Intoxication of Holy Name
Intoxication of Holy Name
Has blown my mind away
I surrender to my SatGuru Dev
I surrender to my SatGuru Dev

Pure light within I saw without moon and sun
Pure light within I saw without moon and sun
In his kingdom I found Love
In his kingdom I found Love
Hearing music play

Chorus

Satisfaction move in place of discontentment
Satisfaction move in place of discontentment
Attachment and jealousy have gone
Attachment and jealousy have gone
By his boundless grace
I surrender to my SatGuru Dev
I surrender to my SatGuru Dev

Remembrance of the Holy Name has taken death away
Remembrance of the Holy Name has taken death away
Now I have found the Perfect
Now I have found the Perfect
Master of His day

Chorus

Leaving Your Lotus Feet

Leaving Your Lotus Feet
Oh where would I go?
Leaving Your Lotus Feet
Oh where would I go?

Who else has the Holy Name to purify me?
Who else has the Holy Name to purify me?
Who else loves the weary and the weak?
Who else loves the weary and the weak?
Oh where would I go?
Leaving Your Lotus Feet
Oh where would I go?

Who else has the nature to persistently save me?
Who else has the nature to persistently save me?
Who else dries my tears when I weep?
Who else dries my tears when I weep?
Oh where would I go?
Leaving Your Lotus Feet
Oh where would I go?

Whoever begs you for your help and your mercy?
Whoever begs you for your help and your mercy?
You take them across the ocean deep
You take them across the ocean deep
Oh where would I go?
Leaving Your Lotus Feet
Oh where would I go?

Who else the power to free me from Maya?
Who else the power to free me from Maya?
Who else showers such a love so sweet?
Who else showers such a love so sweet?
Oh where would I go?
Leaving Your Lotus Feet
Oh where would I go?

Leaving Your Lotus Feet
Oh where would I go?
Leaving Your Lotus Feet
Oh where would I go?

I am yours Oh Lord, my Guru Maharaji
I am yours Oh Lord, my Guru Maharaji
Please make my surrender complete
Please make my surrender complete
Oh where would I go?

Leaving Your Lotus Feet
Oh where would I go?
Leaving Your Lotus Feet
Oh where would I go?

Maharaj Ji We Love You

In the magic of your shining light
We’re going to live so pure and bright
And be so near to you
Oh Lord

Chorus:
Oh Maharaji, Guru Maharaji
We love you
Oh Lord

In the flow of eternal sound
We’re going to lay our emotions down
And hear the music of love
In the safety of you Holy Name
We’re going to play your perfect game
To merge our breath in yours
Oh Lord

Chorus
Chorus

In the river of nectar sweet
We’re going to bathe at your Lotus Feet
And be with you always
In the magic of your shining light
We’re going to live so pure and bright
And be so near to you
Oh Lord

Chorus
Chorus

You Are My Everything

Many fine people will offer their lives at your feet
They live just to enjoy you
And to make their lives complete
Angels will come to love you
Showering harmony
They will gather to serve you
Who are more than ??????

Chorus:
Who am I to ask you
To turn your gaze on me
What could I possibly offer to you
That would make my love become worthy
For you are the light inside me
The love that makes me see
And although to you I am one of so many
You are my everything

All of the humble and talented ones
Who someday will drink of your wisdom
Offering all of their time
So that they may be used in your kingdom
Lovers with radiant faces
Who worship the ground where you stand
And the souls of many travelers will rest in the palm of your hand

Chorus
You are the light inside me
The love that makes me see
And although to you I am one of so many
You are my everything
You are my everything
You are my everything
You are my everything

You Are My Savior

Show me the way
Free me from myself
Take me away from the dark and misery
Open my eyes to the beauty that lies inside

Don’t make me waste this life when in you I need to dwell
I’ve already spent my life on the borders of heaven and hell
Now I know who you are
Please open my heart to you

Take me to the highest mountain
And bathe me in the purest fountain
Cause you are my savior and I couldn’t save myself if I tried
You are my savior and I pray
I never walk away

Cause I’ve been tempted by so many things
Pain and separation is all it ever brings
But you give me your love
And you life me above this hole I’m in

And you take me to the highest mountain
And you bathe me in the purest fountain
Cause you are my savior and I couldn’t save myself if I tried
You are my savior and I pray
I never walk away
From you (are my savior)
You never let me walk away from you
I’m lost without you
Running around in an empty world
Believing that something here going to comfort me
Trying to put it all behind me
But you keep coming back to remind me
That only your love can set me free
Your love is everything to me

And you take me to the highest mountain
And you bathe me in the purest fountain
Cause you are my savior and I couldn’t save myself if I tried
You are my savior and I pray
That I never walk away
From you (are my savior)
Don’t ever let me walk away from you … repeat

Dance With Us Lord

When all of the lovers have gathered together
There’s a magic in the air
Our hearts are calling to dance with You
You can feel it everywhere

Chorus:
Dance with us Lord
Fill our eyes with Your beauty
Dance with us Lord
To the music of Your love

The light on the stage and the moon in Your eyes
Has enchanted all our souls
The river of love is beating our hearts
As Your majesty unfolds

Chorus

When all of the lovers have gathered together
There’s a magic in the air
The felling moves our hearts to dance
And Your love is everywhere

Chorus

Chorus
repeat

I Just Want To Dance With You

When will I dance with you again?
What kind of an invitation should I send?
You’re the one who makes the music lend itself to the magic of love

When will I talk to you again?
You know that we are more than just friends now
Show me a love that needs to end
When all that I’m waiting for
Is the time when I can dance with you again

Chorus:
I just want to dance with you
You know that I do
I just want to dance with you

You know that I need your loving
I need to see your shining face
I need to kiss your Lotus Feet, Oh yes

Chorus

When will I dance with you again?
What kind of an invitation should I send?
You’re the one who makes the music lend itself
And all that I’m waiting for
Is the time when I can dance with you again

Chorus
Repeat various

Amazing lyrics.  And REMEMBER, that wasn't some 70s bajan, it was ONE FOUNDATION, singing that song IN THE 1980's, right in front of  Prem Rawat when he was at least 25, and as Jim said, about 10 years after he abandoned his Mom, and the other Perfect Master, Bal Bhagwan Ji/Sat Pal.

BTW -  Kim Fields really could NOT SING.  How did she ever get to be lead singer of One Foundation?

While your ideas about Kim Field's singing are perfectly valid, as the enjoyment of singing is something each individual experiences for themselves, your ideas about Prem Rawat's history are a little slapdash. He did not abandon his mother, she abandoned him in 1975. She disowned him, he was merely disobedient to her.

It's unlikely that these songs were sung in public after 1982 and that would be 6-7 years after his mother disowned him when he was 25 years old.

I don't think Kim Fields could sing very well, and there were a lot of people who sang a lot better than she did.  How One Foundation became this official, exhaulted band in the cult, I never understood, especially since they weren't that good.  I recall them hanging out in Miami getting ready for the next festival.  They tried to get recording contracts and sell songs, but it never really happened.  I think their fake reggae stuff especially sucked.

Regarding his Mother, according to Dettmers, it was a bit of a mutual abandonment.  According to him, part of the reason Rawat decided to get married at age 16 (and really, WHY would he have go get married that young for any other reason), was because he knew it would drive his Mum out of any control of the Mission in the West and he would be in charge.  Plus, it firmed up his immigration status.  So, I wouldn't be so sure it was an abandonment just on the Mom's side.

That's an interesting take on the marriage and I guess a green card never goes astray. But I remember being a 16 year old heterosexual boy and if the opportunity to marry an older babe like Marolyn arose I would have taken it in a heartbeat and I was quite a normal looking 16 year old.

I think they were the band because they were all song writers and could churn out devotional songs on request that touched the hearts of premies. I think you'll have to ask Prem Rawat the reasons they were the chosen ones but I agree about the fake reggae stuff. On the other hand, I believe that Ross Hannaford was one of the great guitarists and he is still a very successful professional musician here in Australia as is Joe Creighton and Lindsay Field has been and is one of the backup singers to Australia's most popular entertainer. Kim could be a little wobbly on the note and had a tendency to shrillness and her lyrics were a little abject for my taste but they move people.

Musical taste is a very individual thing but I never heard anyone booing when One Foundation were playing.

I don't think it was just lust that caused that marriage to happen.  I mean, Rawat was already having sex with Marolyn anyhow, he didn't have to get married to have that.  Dettmers said when Rawat toured Canada he refused to stay in the ashrams and instead had Dettmers put him up in hotels so he could be with Marolyn without his mother knowing about it. (That's when Dettmers became "x-rated" in the Rawat world.)  Check the archives of EPO, it's all there.

Dettmers said Rawat was conciously aware of what he was doing and it was a power play more than anything else.  He really wanted to get rid of his mother who was trying to control things, and marrying a blonde airline stewardess was a good way to make that happen.  It would break the camel's back, so to speak.

I'm not saying that there weren't good musicians in One Foundation, I'm just saying that Kim wasn't much of a singer the band wasn't good, and that probably had a lot to do with the material, which was just pretty god-awful.  Maybe they could play music, but writing music....ew.

Maybe when they went their separate ways they did better as musicians, I have no doubt pretty much anything would be an improvement.

As for anyone booing One Foundation, are you kidding?  At a festival?  They were the divine band picked by the Perfect Master singing songs of devotion to HIM.  No matter how bad they were musically, and how bad the writing was (and it was pretty bad), everything was just perfect -- and Maharaji was the subject of the same phenomenon.

Who is "Australia's Most Popular Entertainer?"  It has got to be Dame Edna, right?

While Barry Humphries was a brilliant social commentator in the 50's and 60's and damn funny to boot he has been passe in Australia for a long time.

Australia's most popular singer/entertainer:

To each their own of course. While Celine Dion or Shania Twain would probably be Canada's most popular entertainer I prefer Jane Siberry or Garnet Rogers

I always enjoyed One Foundation's music.  I last heard several members of this group sing at Daya's Restaurant at Amaroo in September 2005.  Many of us present, myself included, sang along with them some of the old favorite songs.  This turned out to be my farewell to premiedom.

That was really funny. Yes, Rawats odds of getting a prom date at a US high school were sort of slim never mind a Marolyn type without being LORD OF THE UNIVERSE however, strange things do happen take this example....

Hi Ocker

Thanks for those lyrics.  I have now added it to the page where the actual tracks are.  http://forum8.org/yame/

Unfortunately I do not have the cover to scan.  All I have from Lexy is the actual tape.

By the way, the main thing that Lexy sent was the 1980 Xmas satsang from Miami.  This contains some incredible stuff. I have, so far, digitised the tape (after having to rehouse and splice the broken tape), now comes the boring bit.  That of cleaning up the dreadful sound and even worse choosing extracts from the tape.  Sheesh, what one has to do in the service of the lawd!

I am so impressed Gallery.....When I heard the sickening scrunch as my player chewed up the tape, and when I sent it to you in various pieces, I honestly thought that it was unsaveable...I salute your dedication.

December 25th 1980.Was that the day that Amar was born and we were all asked to meditate ? Does anyone remember?

The satsang is interesting because Guru Maharaj Ji, as he still called himself then, couldn't resist making the most of the occasion by overdoing the comparisons ( often by implication but only by a hair's breadth) between "The Perfect Master" and Jesus.

Sorry about the cover to the "You Are My Everything" music tape.It must have disappeared when I used to play it in the car.I've just worked out that I moved house at least 14 times (including four times abroad) since I bought it ,so it's a miracle that it has survived at all !

I have no deep urge to re-establish contact with my wife-beating ex-husband from what seems like another lifetime,Ocker....someone else MUST have a copy of the "Focus on the Form" half of the tapes.

btw I was easily pleased and loved One Foundation, even ( in moderation) the Reggae.

I think you're right on that, but another word is wrong in the first stanza, even through Kim's whiney, irritating voice, you can hear that it's ADORE, not ENJOY (BARF!)

Many fine people will offer their lives at your feet
They live just to enjoy [It's ADORE]  you
And to make their lives complete
Angels will come to love you
Showering harmony

Thanks Nigel and Ocker.  I'll see what I can do.  I may have some other old tapes of interest too.  Just need some time to get that box of stuff out of storage.  The Gallery will get them, one way or another.

THanks for asking how I am--I'm doing well.  My sister's funeral was beautiful and it brought all my family together for the first time in years.  We celebrated her life, and all the youngsters, many of whom are in bands of one sort or another, played and sang, and read her poems.  I'm very thankful the connection and love is still there, considering how many years I gave away to being a premie!

Cheers,

Shelagh

Use the link at the top of the Prem-Rawat Talk Forum to go to http://gallery.forum8.org/ and then use the email link therein or just email gallery@moderators.elitemail.org and ask him/her for details how to send the tape.

While he is overworked he also has the knack for getting the best quality out of an old tape.

Recorded at Deca Complex...

In 1980, One Foundation rehearsed and recorded on the second floor of the DECA Complex in Hialeah, Florida.  Rawat spent considerable time up there in the studio and the versions of the Indian devotional songs were also recorded with "Mahatma" Charanand and his little band.  Rawat turned 23 in December, 1980.   The studio was off-limits to the general DECA premie population, but on occasion I went up there to give M a message.

At that time, all of Rawat's pet projects were together in one place at the Complex where hundreds of premies were slave-laboring for him to build his first jet airplane, a B707, the one with the gold-plated toilet.

Anyway, I don't listen to these songs anymore because they remind me of how subserviant I was to M when I worked directly for him back then, and they really give me a terrible pit in my stomach.  Bad memories for me.

They're good for historical record, though.  It's quite telling that premies would come to an ex-premie site to get Guru Maharaj Ji's old devotional music, photos, and satsang.  Goes to show you that not much has changed among the old-timers.  They still worship him.  That's so sad, imo.

How did I get into such a state ?........and how would my life have been different ?

Also, there is something about the "devotion" thing ( but not to Rawat ) that I haven't abandoned.

This is a bad post for me.  My whole life was intertwined with these songs.  Bad post.  I mean they meant everything.  The 1978-86 period was extremely devotional.  These songs were the spoils of the victorious devotional push -- DECA and its sound studio and its airplane reburbishing.  I was there for service, a volunteer.  Very depressing environment in a way, as people were not living a balanced existence and were mixing that with heavy duty environmentally unfriendly substances, chemicals, solvents, etc.
