He was a gentle and caring person. He was responsible for an enduring legacy in his community. He managed and ran Denver Free University, sold to a larger group. It was then reformed as Colorado Free University under his guidance; alternative education at rock bottom co-op prices. He saw through M much sooner than most and left pretty disgusted with the whole thing around 1972, Guru Puja in Montrose, I think. (I think he was actually the first President, just before Bob, as well as a short run as VP, maybe not, or maybe just the first "lead guy" before they incorporated, I really need more info.) He was one of the founders of CHUN, Capitol Hill United Neighborhoods, and envisioned the Capitol Hill Peoples Fair, an event that now shuts down a portion of downtown Denver, raises as much as 300,000 per year for charities in the area and has been ongoing for over 30 years. As far as I can tell he left no enemies behind at DLM or later in life. He is really more like the guy ya'll envision Bob Mishler to be. Cheers!  Stephen B

While you were absent from the forum,Ocker ( a few months ago ) Susan did some research into the tragic death of Bob Mishler and his wife in a helicopter accident. Susan managed to get into contact with his son.The conclusion seemed to be that his early death in an accident was just that. ( Bob had a heart attack and following that, the emergency helicopter crashed). The thread at that time re: Bob, was full of praise for his outing of Rawat. btw I never knew about all the mafia /gangster stuff. Pouring toxic chemicals into people's mouths.......a cache of weapons.....abrasive substances......Good Heavens , whatever else did our lord get up to ! Beating the devotees with sticks was no surprise ! He admitted that Shri Hans did that to him........(but with love.)I don't know how you beat someone with a stick lovingly ? Actually I've just checked out that link and there you are hijacking the thread topic and turning it into a thread about Ashrams ! Maybe that's why you don't remember it. Stephenb appears near the bottom of the thread.
