From a recent Rawat pamphlet:-

Crossing all religious, cultural, economic and political boundaries, Prem Rawat has been speaking to people around the world for over 40 years about the possibility of inner peace. "What I offer people is not just talk," he says, "but a way to go inside and savor the peace that is within."

I've just spent ten minutes correlating the availability of Rawat's message from the contactinfo.net and thekeys.maharaji.net websites with countries where Islam is the dominant religion, and the only such country where information on Rawat's message is available is Malaysia, which prides itself on the 60% moslem population living in harmony with it's Bhuddist and Hindu communities. Surely if Rawat's message is so helpful to world peace, and truly crosses all religious and political boundaries, then it should be available in moslem countries as well. Why is Rawat not making efforts to reach these countries, some of which clearly need peace?

Surprisingly absent are India's neighbours, Pakistan and Bangladesh. With the 'millions' in India interested in Rawat, surely some would have taken the message to their neighbours?

Also conspicuously absent is China.

If Rawat is the answer, it must have been a damn stupid question.

John.

"If Rawat is the answer, it must have been a damn stupid question."

Brilliant.

"if Rawat's message ... truly crosses all religious and political boundaries...."

Really, what boundaries has he crossed? From a basically Hindu guru worshipping cult in India to a poorly disguised, rehashed, basically Hindu guru worshipping cult in the West.

Not much of a boundary to cross and one already breached by the likes of Maharashi Mahesh Yogi, Swami A.C. Bhaktivedanta, etc. Not to mention Swami Vivekananda's warm welcome in America a century ago.

He wouldn't attempt to approach West or East Pakistan (Bangladesh) not merely because of the wars of the last century with India, but because he knows a Hindu infidel wouldn't cut much ice there, no matter who he thinks he is.

Besides there's probably a law against saying you're God and putting up pictures of your self and declaring them to be images of same in those countries.

"If Rawat is the answer, it must have been a damn stupid question."

Thanks, John. That's been making me chuckle to myself all week. Best line I've read in a long time.
