I guess one of the largest discrepancies that has come to my attention
in these last few days has been the discrepancy between the image these
two teachers portray and who they actually are. And by who they are I
don't mean some spiritual mombo-jumbo we've all been spoon fed over the
years. I mean, they live like kings off a mostly volunteer force that
literally slave away for them. 5 star hotels everywhere they go, 1st
class everywhere they go, face-lifts and the finest clothes from the
highest end shops, two homes, etc. etc. etc.
All the money people pay them for what seems like a neverending process
of growth towards being true, what a joke, goes towards two peoples
lavish lifestyles. Where again is world peace? How can two people
sucking every last drop of money, time, energy, and lifes from those
that trust them comepletely benefit world peace, or those sucked dry? It
benefits two white, upperclass Americans living the American dream while
telling everyone else that they are the ones dreaming. The discrepancy
is hte lie that they live in the public eye versus who they are 97.5% of
the time.

Hi Will,

Yeah, it's all too familiar.  The thing about sexual predators is that the world is filled with those who hurt innocent people so badly, whether their victims are adults or children.

Sometimes I think that sexual predation is in the job description for cult leaders.  One way or another, the power they seek to obtain and wield leads to that kind of abuse because they view themselves as entitled, not just to the money, adoration of the masses of followers, but to the most intimate part of a human being, their sexuality.

The answer to this?  A good stretch in prison, imo.

I thought we were supposed to be talking about Prem Rawat.

(I am not blameless, here, I have smuggled in treasure chests full of, in my case, Darwinian heresy while the coastguards weren't looking.)

But who is this Gangaji person we want to know even more about than we don't know already?  Why should we care?

If you are going to start a thread, Grapevine, it would at least help if you used a few words of your own to explain things instead of just posting a link to somewhere else.

Pip-pip.

I read a story about a teacher, who when entering a temple, then
leaving forget which side of the door he left his shoes, He then
dismissed his students, found another teacher for himself.

His reason was "If I cannot pay attention to where I leave my shoes, how can I pass this on to others"

This is integrity.
