Sorry Mike,

I'm afraid I was being ironic and one of the last people I would want to meet is this person. Whatever I may think about Prem Rawat and his "Knowledge" I remember fondly (and in some cases it is not just remembering) most of the premies I have ever known. There were a handful of cynical bastards in amongst them but back in the 70's these were mainly weeded out by peer pressure (I don't mean that it was done consciously) because they just didn't fit in. But in every society that has reciprocal altruism (and DLM down amongst the non-honchos was certainly one of those) there is room for a minority of "cheaters" and that's where I'd have to put Mr Joyless Tao.

I have to think that he is a particularly insensitive, mean spirited person to have spent 30 years in meditation but to have so little insight into what a jerk he is and so little shame that he is happy to identify his inner self so easily to strangers. On the other hand I suppose it shows that Rawat's "Knowledge" and his student group has evolved to the point where this sort of guy is a success story. I am afraid I am still idealistic enough to be depressed. I had hoped that all the JONX/Mr Joyful types were just the same guy using numerous pseudonyms.
