I was reading a newspaper article this morning, by a woman who lives in London, who is Sicilian by origin, and a novelist. She told a little story of what it was like to grow up in the atmosphere of fear created by the mafia in Sicily, and pointed out that they are still there with a lot of influence at grass roots level.

I just thought that OK she has exposed herself by publishing her article in a paper with a huge readership. (She went to university with a Sicilian magistrate who has to have 24 hour protection). She had the courage.

And I just thought, she has contributed to the joint effort to root out the mafia from Sicily.

And I realised , that even though Rawat is not in the same league as a mafia boss, that the little contributions made on the forum are very very important.

This woman pointed out that the Italian authorities believe that a consistent effort in the communities would stop the mafia altogether.

And I realised that the efforts made by the people who keep the forum alive and kicking are absolutely vital. Because it is the little efforts made day by day that will finally stop the process of cult recruiting.
