Gerry,

Betty and Barney Hill were very early sixties, if I remember correctly.  Maybe late 50's.  That was still during the time of Project Bluebook.  That's pretty early.

Abduction stories have occurred early.  The earlies ufo "sightings," were very likley secret military flights.  I'd say that is almost certain and would explain the government reluctance to discuss them "at the time."  The development of stealth aircraft was an early desire of the fly-boys...... kinda duhhhh..... and those early development efforts were kept very secret.  I have little doubt of that.

But abductions?  THink about it.  This so-called advanced society that keeps travelling here at many times the speed of light (hit number 1) for the nefarious purpose of sexual exploitation (hit number 2) and does it for a long period of time, much longer than it took us to sequence the entire human genome for the very first time (hit number 3) and still abducts for those same experiments?  Think about it, Gerry...... these are the dumbest "people" to ever "visit" our planet under those constraints.  They must be total ignoramous....... If they are so advanced that they can travel at, near to or over the speed of light, thus defying the most basic physics, they are certainly smart enough to "get it" on the first go-round.  One abduction ought to be enough, no?  It doesn't amke any sense.

Conspiracy theories thrive in the world of pick-and-choose evidence.  They wither under the weight of all evidence taken together.  This is just one such conspiracy theory.  You can pick and choose to pay attention to pieces of evidence or you can look at ALL of it, including that which flies in the face of your hypothesis, and discover the "real answer."  This is critical thinking and it is key to figuring ANYTHING out, at all, Gerry.

Would I like to have knowledge of other life existing in the universe?  Just like Sagan, you bet I would.  I think our efforts on Mars and some planned missions for outlying moons proves our interest.  But is someone visiting us to perform "sexually explicit" and "naughty" experiments on us?  Nah!  If they were enlightened enough to get here in a reasonable period of time, there would no need for repeated visits to play with my winky!
