Hi Tsunami,

Thanks for your thoughtful post, but I didn't have a motive in asking.  I was simply asking you a question.

Can you deny the fact that you have to be ready to receive knowledge?

I'm not sure what you think Knowledge is but there isn't any need for "readiness" to learn the techniques of Prem Rawat's meditation.  There really isn't anything to become "ready" for.  They are simple meditation techniques and don't really require any special understanding.  They can be taught and learned without any prolonged "preparation period."

But, you're right, you're much too young to tie yourself down to a all of that now.  There is so much living to be done!  And you have all the youthful energy to do that living, although I don't know why you think you need to get "lost in the world" because the world is where everybody lives, including Prem Rawat.  The world is a wonderful place, with interesting people to befriend and love and learn from.  There isn't a special world surrounding Maharaji, although a lot of older long-term premies might still think that way.  Hey, take advantage of your youth and get yourself a college education and chose a career for yourself.  Now's the time and I think Maharaji would approve of that for you.  I know it's hard to imagine, but middle-age creeps up faster than one thinks!

I don't think that the motive behind all the travel he does (do you realize how exhausting it is to travel) and all the speeches he made (without notes nor preparation he just let go, yes it gets redundant sometimes! but would you do better? no) has to be money because you know what, people aren't that much donating as you claim!

Traveling is exhausting, but one thing that Maharaji loves to do the most in his life is to fly his jet, and it takes a lot of money to do that.  Did you know it costs around $300,000 per month just to keep it parked somewhere?  If you become a premie and you're asked to donate money a lot, you'll understand how much money that really is.  That's just for the jet to sit in a hangar, not the additional costs of his travel.  Plus, wherever he goes, he has premies waiting on him and taking care of all his needs.  He's not an ordinary traveler in that regard.  So it's not like he's a commercial jet pilot who adheres to flight schedules.  Rather, he chooses his own flight plans, schedules, and flies accordingly.  I'm sure he's a very skilled pilot, there's no question about that.

Actually, I could do much better than Maharaji as a public speaker.  You may think that you have to say he's a good public speaker, but he really isn't, in my opinion.  Most people who go to introductory programs have said the same thing about him and I think that's an interesting observation to note.  Maybe if you get some experience listening to people who are talented, intelligent speakers, say, at a college or university, you'll be better able to make the distinction and see the difference.

the mind is the perception that we use but is limitted to this world so it is only paying attention to one's circumstances that happens outside

Your mind is not a separate entity that you must get rid of.  Your mind is part of you and always will be.  Your mind also is not a "voice inside" you, either.  I think the only people who experience the mind that way are those who suffer from Schizophrenia, which is a dreadful mental disease. So, the mind isn't a disease to cure oneself from as with a bona fide mental illness.  It's something you need to think, reason, make decisions, and learn.  And to me, the "heart" is all of the wonderful emotions that I feel:  love, hope, awe, and  wonder.  One doesn't have to be a devotee of Maharaji to feel those things.  You'll soon find that out once you start exploring this wonderful world we live in.

You also say he's an alchoolic etc etc.....do you know what an alchoolic is, or a junkie? It doesn't look pretty. There's no way M would be clean like he his during his events if he had to be abusing of drugs or beer, COME ON! He is experiencing it? I don't care, in fact i could approve.

From all the accounts from those who have been close to Maharaji, he certainly has all of the characteristics of an alcoholic.  He's the type of alcohol called a "functioning alcoholic."  There are lots and lots of functioning alcoholics in the world and Maharaji's most likely one of them.  And Maharaji's quite clever about hiding those things about himself, which is also another characteristic of a functioning alcoholic.  They schedule their drinking.  I do have lots of experience with alcoholics in my life, that's how I know.  Someone doesn't have to be passed out drunk all of the time to be one and those types of drunks hide it very, very well.  That's why he has no problems when he flies his jet or speaks on stages.

Tsunami, it's obvious you and I don't agree about Prem Rawat and that's okay.  I wish you all the best and encourage you to go and learn all about the world.  You have plenty of time to decide whether or not you want to become a follower of Maharaji.

Best wishes to you,

Cynthia
