In all these years of watching this dialogue on and off, one thing has become clear: you are not going to convince premies by logic, argument, or personal coaxing to question their cult beliefs. Actually, on rare occasions, because of a personal relationship, that can happen, and I have personally seen that, but it's very unlikely otherwise. I have seen friends of mine admit, in a kind of "emperors new clothes" confession, that they agreed with me, and they did leave the cult, but I think that's because the friendship and trust was pretty strong, and they saw how much I cared about them. But that's about it.
So, Ghi has an agenda, and the agenda is to sound reasonable, not respond to any particular information, facts or allegations, and then BLUR THE ISSUES, or CONFUSE THE ISSUES as much as possible. That's the game, although most premies don't usually do it out loud, although they probably engage in it in their own heads all the time.
So, I don't think it works to engage in the confusion or the blur. Actually, I think you mostly do that very well, and I appreciate your thoughtful analysis, but I think all you did with Ghi was to reinforce his "blurred" rationalization to ex-premies.
