The behaviour of the folks who appear on the Jerry Springer show is thankfully unrepresentitive of either Americans or most 'council estate' dwellers in the UK in my experience. Though I have always wondered about you Lexy - you know what they say about the company you keep (
)!One does like to keep certain standards, what? Actually, I said the above about the Brits a bit tongue in cheek. I know they are around but would prefer they weren't in my front room!
Also I think that glamourising such behaviour has an unhealthy effect on accepted social norms. That came home to me quite powerfully a few years ago when I overheard a group of young teanagers discussing the Springer Show. They had never seen anything like it. And BTW, they lived on the local council estate!
