I've been thinking about "The Keys" website, particularly the "Terms and Conditions," which a person must accept in order to find out more about Prem Rawat's "The Keys." That is the only method now available to anyone who wants to receive Knowledge from Prem Rawat. Frankly, I had a hard time finding these "Terms and Conditions," because the only way to access them is to first check on all of the five initial set of terms and conditions when one is registering for a PAN or Personal Access Number (I don't recommend anyone register there). These two paragraphs struck me strongly: I also understand and agree that my purpose for accessing this website and any related material is limited solely to my personal interest in Maharaji’s Knowledge, and by agreeing, I expressly waive any rights I may believe I have in terms of creating commentary, research, or any other “fair use” purposes. I also agree that, should my interest in learning the techniques of Knowledge change at any time, this agreement is perpetual in length, and that upon such change, I will return any such material to The Prem Rawat Foundation. This begs some serious questions. Prem Rawat and his adherents have advertised him as having a connection to the United Nations, both in the past and recently. In fact, they use the UN as a way of gaining more credibility with the general public on his official websites. If Prem Rawat were so concerned with being affiliated and/or connected to the UN, why then, would he make a request of his current followers, aspirants, and interested new people to waive or give up their basic human rights under the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights? Here's Article 19: "Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers." http://www.un.org/Overview/rights.html Therefore, paragraph one above from the Prem Rawat "The Keys" website "Terms and Conditions," is in direct violation of the of the UN Declaration, because it requires that people "expressly waive their right to commentary," which is the exact same thing as asking someone to waive their universal freedom of opinion and expression as stated by the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights. Furthermore, that paragraph states that those are rights to be waived that someone believes they may have. This is an unconscionable display of hubris on the part of Prem Rawat and his attorneys, who I would assume drafted those "Terms and Conditions." People around the world don't "believe" they have human rights -- they have human rights, and Prem Rawat asks people to waive them on the most fundamental level. One is reminded of Baby Doc Duvalier or Saddam Hussain when one reads such things. That paragraph also violates anyone's First Amendment Right under the U.S. Constitution. "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances." Paragraph two above, of Prem Rawat's "Terms and Conditions," requires that anyone who wants to listen to the new Keys, in an effort to possibly receive Knowledge, must also waive their right perpetually. That means for ever and ever, for one's entire life. But, I'm not surprised, because on page 15 of the Discovering More brochure, Prem Rawat himself states that: "This is indeed a journey for a lifetime." http://thekeys.maharaji.net/downloads/DM_en/dm_en15.html Cynthia
