I was told that Hans started in 1930 and Swarupanand died in 1936. Hans was  NEVER  a mahatma and after Swarupanand the movement split in two. First, Nangli Sahib, with 300 mahatmas transmitting the 'shakti' instead of just one guru (check out the visions page of www.nanglisahib.com for the allleged lineage all the way back to Adi Shankara (yeah, right!)lineage. Second was Advait Mat with Vairaganand setting himself up as the 'Second Master', dying, screaming, in fits, on a floor in hospital (that is up there with slipping on a bar of soap for an inelegant 'samadhi'). Folowed by Beantanand, the 'Third Master', who died in the same way, perhaps it was something in the water(?). TheFourth Master was(is?) Darshan Purnanand who came to London around 3 years ago when he was 84 years old. I don't know if he's pegged it yet or, if so, who is his successor. (I will enquire)The ashram/ region supposedly stolen by Vairaganand, according to DLM India, is now a vast town which would confirm m(y feelings that the satgurus of this area were all closet property developers and their squabbles and splits were all about land.
