I imagine, once you get a bunch of people worshipping and serving you as God Almighty, it's rather hard to give up the habit. Especially if they're showering you with cash donations.

Then you'd have to worship the new one, instead of being worshiped yourself.

I'd bet they've all got tattoos somewhere that say, "Satguru til Death", with a Buddha, and a snake and knife or skull or something.
