Well I did it babaluji, listened to all of the trax,

As a chill-out dj, with years of experience of the euro chill-out scene I have some understanding of the territory he's aiming at here, not just from the musical angle but the message too.
well if that is an aural expression of the expereience of knowledge, and not just the experience of any person, but someone who has really understood existence at the deepest level, god help us all. That he chooses the bland end of ethnic chill-out is bad enough, though understandable from the marketing angle, but comparisons with Enigma (yuch) are not good either..
All the way through all of the trax a number of thoughts came to mind.

1. Doesn't he understand that the essence of good chill music is less is more when it comes to vocals and trax. The essence of horizontal culture is non-verbal and non-movement, the deepest vocals are minimal, and harder hitting for that.

2.During every track I kept thinking of specific trax I've heard over the years and the comparison is scary. Every track I could think of equivalents for directly the territory he was aiming at and in not one instance is he even warm to the competetition.

2. If you're talking about something so precious, then surely it helps if the melody lines are precious too. The sunset track, and I suspect because of the lady di tone in his voice at the start, when he's at his most convincing, lingered in my mind for a couple of seconds but all the time I was thinking of the Beloved's Sun Rising, seriously not flattering to phats.

3. What's with the beatz, he does nothing with them right through, as though he's got one of those automated synth keyboard patterns just repeating. Unbelievably unadventurous.

No, I'm gonna stop before I go off on one.

This man understands nothing, does not have a clue how deep the chill scene is, and how it has journeyed over the years. He's so arrogant, those trax just demonstrate exactly the same psycho traits he leaks everywhere, but the biggest arrogance is putting them online. As a control freak everything has to be perfect, he obviously thinks those trax are, or they wouldn't be up. That says it all really.

I never thought I'd say it, but I'm starting to feel sorry for the guy.
