I've never attended one of their conferences either.  American Family Foundation was a name that did confuse a lot of people and I, for another, am also happy with their name change.

IMO, it's a good solid stand for this group of excellent, experienced, and seasoned professionals to use the "forbidden word" in their name.  Long overdue and about time.  Courageous, too. 

Did you read the "Letter to.." that I posted above by Lagone?  I'm curious what you think of it.  Even though I'm an atheist, I don't believe that anyone should ever be prohibited or censored from pursuing a spiritual path if that is what they choose to do and I liked how Langone directed his letter to his client -- tailored to his/her particular needs as a post-cult person still searching -- along with a healthy dose of warnings about magical thinking and the New Age movement.
