My theory is that it is an evolutionary tipping point we are undergoing.  A rapid change that finally comes as a result of build up that has been coming for a long time.

And it's the iceberg thing - when a man puts on a dress in public they can be seen to be who they are but how many transgender males actually do that?  How many have been happy in their closet?  The iceberg theory gives you an answer of 90%.
