I never thought it would be me, I'm not the sort of person who drives into flooding creeks and gets stuck. We are getting some big rains now. And I abandoned the idea of driving to Mullum and decided to drop down to my local shops which are less than a minute away. on the way back I think oh it's the gutters have overflowed, no idea it is Reedy Creek flooding.
A little crew of women are already videoing me when I get out of the car and am making my way to the back of it to get my phone and then this big truck comes rattling by and I guess the water must have been over my waist for a while, it would have made very funny footage so I am going to avoid the local news tonight.
things got better, some men came and pushed me out and another truck came by with a very nice young couple and they towed me home. I was thanking them and he said it feels great to do someone a good turn. and I said it feels really good to have one given to you.
They just about restored my faith in humanity - strong capable friendly, worked together as a team. it was wonderful.
but not to worry then I rang my roadside assist and they said it was flood damage not mechanical breakdown so I would have to get my insurance and I said I don't have insurance and she said you'll have to pay for it all then including towing to the garage, and she said it in such a comfortable pleased tone of voice.
